Privacy Policy
Emma Tanya Wedding Celebrant takes the security and privacy of your data seriously. I need to gather and use information or ‘data’ as part of my business and to manage my relationship with you. I am the controller of personal data obtained via my website, meaning I am legally responsible for deciding how and for what purposes it is used.
Please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information who I am and how and why I collect, store, use and share any information relating to you (your personal data) in connection with your use of my website. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact me or a relevant regulator in the event you have a complaint.

I do not provide services directly to children and I do not knowingly collect data relating to children via my website.
How Personal Data is Defined
‘Personal data’ means information which relates to a living person who can be identified from that data (a ‘data subject’) on its own, or when taken together with other information which is likely to come into my possession.

Your legal rights
You have a number of rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data.
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a ‘subject access request’). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data I hold about you and to check that I am lawfully processing it.
- Request correction of the personal data that I hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data I hold about you corrected, though I may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to me.
- Request erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask me to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for me continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask me to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where I may have processed your information unlawfully or where I am required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. Note, however, that I may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
- Object to processing of your personal data where I am relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) as the legal basis for that particular use of your data (including carrying out profiling based on my legitimate interests). In some cases, I may demonstrate that I have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your right to object.
- You also have the absolute right to object any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
- Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party. I will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Note that this right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for me to use or where I used the information to perform a contract with you.
- Withdraw consent at any time where I am relying on consent to process your personal data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, I may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. I will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.
- Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask me to suspend the processing of your personal data in one of the following scenarios:
- If you want me to establish the data’s accuracy;
- Where my use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it;
- Where you need me to hold the data even if I no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or
- You have objected to my use of your data but I need to verify whether I have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact me.
Photographs
You may wish to share photographs of your ceremony for me to post on social media, on this website and/or to use for marketing purposes. I will never post your photos or names without your permission. The photographer may also be contacted for permission.
Our Communication
If I need to contact you, it will be through the details you actively provide to me. For example, via email, telephone, text messages, WhatsApp, Zoom or by post. Do not submit any form of contact that you do not wish to be used.
